Digitalization of procurement function for a GCC government ministry
Digitalization of procurement function for a GCC government ministry
Context:
Procurement processes were built for compliance and not for agility, resulting in huge delays of up to 50 days between requisition to issuance of contract
What did we do?
Conducted 10+ design thinking workshops with 100+ key stakeholders to develop the future process and platform
Assessed 75+ world-class platform providers across 300+ platform requirements to shortlist ~10 vendors
Helped develop MVP for the new platform
Organised 20+ test sessions with selected vendors to ensure all key features offered by their solutions met all the user requirements
Negotiated frame agreements at lower costs with over 30+ preferred vendors across 20 categories
What was achieved?
Reduced procurement costs by more than 10% on average (up to 30%) in some cases. Piloted new digitised, customer-friendly procurement processes, envisaged to bring down the time to less than 10 minutes for most of the predictable spend (via catalogues)
